Earthquake Information System is an Android application developed jointly by Kandilli Observatory, Boğaziçi University and Earthquake Research Institute, and converted into an application by Cenk Tarhan ([email protected]).

The purpose of the Earthquake Information System is to provide users with access to official information about earthquakes occurring in Turkey and its immediate surroundings, and to present Turkeys seismicity history to users with statistical information. Thanks to the application, it is possible to instantly view where and how strong an earthquake occurred.

In addition to being an automatic earthquake tracking system, the Earthquake Information System also offers users who have installed the application to their mobile devices the opportunity to convey their opinions about the earthquake to the Kandilli Observatory and the Earthquake Research Institute. Thus, when an earthquake occurs, where and how the earthquake is felt and the location of the damage caused by the earthquake can be determined. With this data collection feature, the application allows users to contribute to scientific studies.

Note: In order for the application to work, the location finding service on your mobile device must be turned on and the application must be given location finding authority.
