Emergency Izmir mobile application is the application developed by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality to reach and communicate with those trapped under the rubble during the earthquake. Thanks to the application, the locations of earthquake victims are instantly transmitted to search and rescue units and earthquake victims can be found via Bluetooth search without the need for internet. After the earthquake of October 30, 2020, it was once again remembered how vital the search and rescue efforts are, how valuable the minutes are, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer said, earthquake after earthquake, etc. He considered preparing for natural disasters as a main priority and initiated many studies. How does Emergency Izmir mobile application work? After the earthquake, citizens can call out remotely, even when they cannot reach the phone, using the Find Me command or the "I am under rubble" button, allowing them to automatically share their calls for help (along with their location information) with Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department officials. The Bluetooth broadcast of people under the rubble is turned on and transmits information such as signal strength and remaining battery level to the Search and Rescue Teams. By starting 17Mhz audio broadcast, it becomes easier for rescue teams to locate earthquake victims during debris work activities. The person under the rubble said, "Your location has been sent to the teams." The message "Dont be afraid, we are very close to finding you" is sent. The person making the call can signal with a siren sound via the application in order to inform the search and rescue teams of their location by acoustic listening method, and how many people are with them. With the "Im Safe" button, people can send their location information to their relatives and fire department officials in the safe rooms they have previously determined, and share the information that they are safe via message.
