Half-Life: Threewave basically adds the Capture the Flag game mode to the game. In this online game mode, which takes place in many different games, players who play as teams basically try to steal their flags from the opposing teams headquarters and carry them to their own headquarters. While we carry the flag to our own headquarters, we need to prevent the other team from stealing our flag. If the opposing team does not have our flag and we bring the opposing teams flag to our headquarters, we score.

Half-Life: Threewave is actually a project that was first developed by Valve. Traces of this game mode were found in 2003 during the hacking of the Vavle servers. After examining the game files, traces of the Half-Life: Threewave game mode were found; but this mod was not working in its original form.
