Im Safe is a mobile application developed to let you know that you are safe by sending location information to your loved ones via SMS in case of a possible disaster.

AKUT Im Safe application works without internet and sends your location via GPS to the people you specify via your phones text message system. It is an application that will save lives especially during an earthquake.

I am Safe application, developed by Genel Bilgi Teknolojileri company together with AKUT Search and Rescue Association, is a vital application that allows you to send your location to pre-determined people with a single touch in case of a natural disaster such as an earthquake. The application, which can be used in these situations where operators cannot provide internet and calling services, is designed very simply. In difficult moments, all you have to do is tap the red button to convey to your loved ones that you are alive. Your location information is obtained using your phones GPS connection and transmitted via SMS. The application also provides basic information on earthquakes, floods and other common issues.

How does the Im Safe application work?

In order to use the application, you must first download the application. Then, you must enter the settings section of the application and add a persons phone number to the system. Once you add the number, the Im Safe button becomes active.

Finally, if you click on the button in case of earthquake, fire or any other emergency, an SMS will be sent to the phone numbers you have added regarding your estimated location and that you are safe. You do not need an internet connection other than downloading the Safe application and adding numbers. You must have SMS rights in order for the message that you are safe to be sent.
