Minecraft Dungeons for Windows 10

Minecraft Dungeons supports up to four players and includes a variety of new weapons, items, and mobs, as well as a variety of environments to explore and an extensive quest that pits player characters, heroes, and the main enemy called the Ark Vagrant Villager. The game has specific missions and locations along with procedurally generated items. Players are not limited to one class, they can buy and use more armor or weapons. Since the game is action-adventure focused, players do not have a chance to build or mine. The game takes place both above and below the ground. Tasks are procedurally generated. Players can choose their avatar from a variety of heroes provided with additional heroes available as DLC.Skins and character creation skins purchased in Minecraft cannot be used in Minecraft Dungeons.

The hero is the character that players control in the game. When starting the game, players can choose the cosmetic hero that they can use throughout the game. Not all heroes are purely cosmetic and offer special powers. All loot, levels and progress gained when selecting a hero stays with that hero only and does not carry over to other heroes the player plays. If players want to replace the hero later and play as a different hero with a different loot, they can duplicate the hero with the same loot the original hero had.

Minecraft Dungeons takes place in the same universe as Minecraft. Unlike Minecraft, which is a sandbox, the game features a linear, story-driven scenario and cutscenes. The opening cutscene tells the story of an outcast villager named Ark who is rejected by everyone he meets. Heroes explore various locations and complete missions to stop the Ark Vagrant Villager, fight his army and move on to the next level. They finally come face-to-face with the Ark Vagrant Villager in his castle, celebrating defeat and saving the world from evil. The Orb is then shown rebuilding itself.
