MyShake, an earthquake application that you can download and use for free on your smartphones and tablets using the Android operating system, is an interesting warning and measurement mechanism prepared by the University of California. MyShake basically uses your mobile devices motion sensor to detect shakes. These sensors continuously detect vibrations around you when your mobile devices are turned on and can detect whether the shaking you are experiencing is an earthquake. The application, which has a simple system, carries a less advanced version of the earthquake measurement mechanisms used in observatories to our phones and tablets.

With the MyShake application, the University of California aims to establish a wide network that can send warnings to users before earthquakes. In addition, the data obtained from the use of the application will be used in studies to reduce the effects of earthquakes.

MyShake also includes information about earthquake precautions and major earthquakes in history.
