I came across NEO Scavenger as one of the games that winked at me more in terms of its atmosphere and subject rather than its crafting system. We play a man struggling to find out who he is in a post-apocalyptic environment. Even though other games may create an adventure-style climate in your mind, all you really have to do is survive. Leaving the player completely alone in the focus of the story, NEO Scavenger definitely does not hold your hand at the beginning of the game. You are completely on your own to understand what happened, to find out who you are, to not starve to death.

Survival elements are processed in extremely detail for an independent production. Everything from hunger, thirst, metabolism, body temperature is calculated in the game and you must control each one separately. Personally, I lost all enthusiasm for the game, dying from hunger during my first encounter with it. In NEO Scavenger, where you have to choose the food you find around carefully, its only a matter of time before you come across a poisonous fruit like me and raise your eyebrows.

Those who try Dont Starve will notice great similarities in NEO Scavenger. However, in NEO Scavenger, where you have to play incredibly strategically, you must feel like a completely primitive person. Since the hunting and combat system is extremely primitive, the most logical thing you can do is often to escape. However, if you can create a clever trap, maybe that nights dinner will come out. Just be careful! If you die once in NEO Scavenger, you have to play from the beginning. There is no leveling or character development in the game, let alone any save system.
