In Shardlight, which has a post-apocalyptic infrastructure, we witness that the world is in ruins due to nuclear bombs. After the bombs fell one after another, life came to a standstill, and the resources that mankind was accustomed to consuming began to run out one by one. Therefore, domination over limited resources has become a major problem. In such an environment, we are the guests of a country ruled by an oppressive and unjust government. This government, which has an oligarchic structure, gained dominance over all resources by using force. The government uses these resources as a trade tool to gain the support of the rich. The wealthy who support the government regularly receive a share of these resources. But poor people, on the other hand, have to face hunger and disease because they cant get any help. Our heroine, Amy Wellard, is a government official working to determine who will win the governments support.

Amy Wellard believes she has found a way to eliminate all resource problems and be salvation for poor people. Throughout the game, we try to solve the secret of this mysterious method and deliver it to the poor people. But this job means death to us; because the government and the wealthy under its pressure, who do not want the system he has established to deteriorate, are preparing various traps to stop our hero. Our task is to help our hero overcome these traps and challenging puzzles.
