The Wesport Independent, a game that can be defined as a censorship simulator that you can play on your computers, tells a very interesting story. The events in our game take place in a country that has just come out of war. After this country comes out of the war, a new party comes to power. When the said party comes to power, it uses oppression and censorship as a tool to make its power permanent and establishes a great control over the media. We are replacing an editor working in a newspaper that is trying to publish in this country, and we are trying to create a free publication in this environment.

Our main job at The Wesport Independent is to organize the content that will be published in our newspaper and to remove the content that needs to be removed. The decisions we take while doing this work determine the views of the censorship government and the opposition about our newspaper. It is in our hands to broadcast pro-government in order to support the increasing opposition voices or to suppress the fascist powers breath on our neck. While editing the content in our newspaper, we can censor whatever we want, or we can choose not to include all the facts on the content.
