I really dont know how to describe Towerfall. First of all, the cute and retro graphics of the game caught my attention. How good can it be, after seeing itself as an indie game on PlayStation 4? The question echoed in my head, until I had only 5 minutes at the beginning of the game. Towerfall is a game that you will definitely not want to meet this term by embellishing a simple archery battle with incredible elements. I am sure that after playing Towerfall once, the new generation multiplayer games will be unappealing to you, and you will not be able to enjoy the games you play with your friends. Why so many claims? Lets talk about the gameplay and basic structure of Towerfall.

Towerfall is a simple archery combat game that can support up to 4 players and also has a single player story mode. The basic mechanics of the game are actually very easy and useful. However, getting used to and mastering the game is incredibly time consuming because Towerfalls combat experience is really fast and unique. The game takes place on retro-style maps with colorful and fluid animations, and there is only one screen. You start the levels by choosing your archer. In the single player mode of the game, new regions are opened according to the difficulty and incredibly fun, but also challenging boss battles are waiting for you. Get power-ups and new types of arrows from the treasure chests that will appear in the level, hunt monsters with your skillful marksmanship in the ever-changing pace of the game, or grab the shot arrows in the air like a master ninja. There are only two ways to defeat your enemies in Towerfall: shoot them with arrows or jump on their heads. Sounds pretty simple, doesnt it? Not.

The real face of Towerfall comes out when you play the game in multiplayer with your friends. With unique game modes, co-op mission options or battle maps, Towerfall is truly a unique wargame with huge potential, waiting to be explored. I dont know how to classify the game exactly; arcade, platformer, war, action, skill.. Its all beautifully blended in Towerfall!

If we briefly touch on the features of the game, Towerfall may seem like a small game, but it has a huge universe with 120 unique maps in total, various reinforcements, arrow options with different effects and 8 playable characters. Many of these features I have mentioned are extra content that you will discover as you play the game, some of which are opened with events that require a secret achievement. Moreover, the best part of the job is that you can discover these secrets while playing with your friends.
