WinMerge is an open source synchronizer program. You can match data in text files with this software designed to help you find and synchronize differences in visual text files. You can use the program to synchronize two text files, or you can combine text files with similar content to free up space by deleting files that have more than one copy on the hard disk.

Program Usage:

To start using the program, open a new merge project by giving the Open command from the File menu. Select the text files to merge from the Left and Right boxes. The texts to be compared appear side by side on the screen. To open files with the program, you can use the drag-and-drop technique as in standard Windows operations. The program can serve not only for text comparison, but also as a tool that software developers who write long codes can use during the audit phase.

To start viewing the differences between two text files, you can use the Next Difference command from the Merge menu, or you can use the shortcut key of the command, Alt+Down Arrow. You also need to use the commands under the Merge menu for copying operations between two texts.

One of the conveniences that the program provides to software developers is filters. You can use the filter features, which bring convenience related to the programming language, with the Filters command under the Tools menu. In order to compare folders with the program, you can select the folders to compare by giving the Open command from the File menu. You can see the difference between the folders in the Comparison result column.
