In The Land of Pain, a game using the CryEngine game engine produced by CryTek, we take the place of a hero who finds himself in a creepy and unknown place. We realize that something disturbing has occurred in this forest area, and we witness blood-curdling events taking place. After encountering corpses, blood and images of people who died horribly, we set out to investigate who or what was responsible for these events. During this adventure, we also have to learn to survive by facing mysterious and strange events.

An atmosphere inspired by the works of HP Lovecraft is used in The Land of Pain. This atmosphere is combined with the gameplay system we are used to from Outlast games. Our hero does not use any weapons in the game, and to survive, it is the most logical solution to escape. Apart from that, we explore buildings, caves, swamps and cemeteries on a large map, collect useful items and solve puzzles.
